ABOUT Me (and my blog)

ABOUT ME (AND MY BLOG)

I am an arts administrator and presenter, traveler, writer, reader, mother, grandmother—traveling to every country in the world before I die.

This “Time and Place” Blog is intended to record and share past, present and future travels as follows.

LEGACY: Travels with my sons and grandchildren. Titled Legacy because, instead of leaving them money or property, their legacy is the experience and, hopefully, the love of travel.

MY LIFE: Intended for self-indulgent moments when I want to share a personal observation or event.

NEIGHBORHOODS: Where each chapter of my book, “Neighborhoods” will be posted in various stages of completion—from a quick draft to what I think of as a finished chapter. The book is a travel memoir, focusing on neighborhoods lived in or visited by my immediate ancestors or me in the twentieth century and a few years beyond.

WINDOW SEAT:  Travels around the world since 2009 and occasionally earlier. There are 196 countries and my goal is to get to each of them—so far I’ve reached 81. 115 TO GO.

FAMILY/FRIENDS: Stories, usually including travel, about…family and friends!

HISTORY/POLITICS: I am back to reading history, partly to better understand the present and partly because truth really is stranger and more interesting than fiction. And politics? I cannot seem to totally shake my years of being something of a political junkie so maybe I will try to write something more coherent than my usual rant from time to time.
